Let’s face it, “20 something year old purple me” would totally be there. But “indigo 40 something year old me” … it’s not happening. In any case, the doodles will tell the tales of the Coachella highs and lows, as seen from my evening bed rot on TikTok.
Aura High - “Gagachella”
Let’s start off strong here, with Lady Gaga. If you haven’t caught some clips of her performing, do yourself a favor, and take a look. Her aura is very strong purple, sparkly and cascading off her in waves of floaty freedom. This to me means she is creating in her own space. She feels authentic, not controlled by what others want or career driven necessities. She feels like she is coming into her next chapter as an artist and in doing so, going within to evolve. Her blue was on display too, and vulnerable in its presence. This is a big deal for Lady Gaga, as she can feel so deeply while she performs. She really feeds on energy and gives to that same energy to create her art. Watching this was a purple aura delight.
Aura Low - It’s in a desert
Desert sun + indigo aura = NO THANK YOU. Even scrolling through the pictures had my anxiety through the roof. The brightness, the zero shade and the strong sun beating down. The pure visibility of this space had my insides screaming.
Aura High - Blackpink’s Lisa and Jennie
Lisa (a.k.a. “Mook” if you’re around my age and you only really know her from White Lotus season 3) seemed to let the pink aura out. It was strong, bold and sparkly. Sparkles to me indicate curiosity, inspiration and heightened spiritual connection. Her pink and purple aura presented as raw, confident and ready to take all the spotlight and linger in it. It felt very “Alter Ego” and I would say she is exploring more within her artistry and appreciating the new appreciation for it!
Jennie has a yellow and purple aura, and both colors were very shiny. To me, this signifies she amped up her energy and brought a lot of enthusiasm to her set. She always feels a little reserved to me, most likely due to her yellow aura perfectionism. Yellows, and especially yellow/purples can be hard on themselves and deal with aftereffects of anxiety and negative self-talk. However, this performance felt practiced and planned to a point of fun and comfort. She feels like she works VERY hard, and her energy tells me she felt comfortable stepping up and taking some fun risks in her set.
Aura Low - “Carmageddon”
Apparently, the traffic leading into this desert concert landscape created a 12-hour dystopian gridlock which was compared to a scene in Mad Max. (My indigo anxiety is acting up again just looking at it. WHERE DO YOU PEE?) What’s to blame? Greediness of course! Since there is a new way of paying more for preferred parking, (which used to be first come first serve) it left everyone who didn’t buy into the $299 price to idle in the heat, run out of gas and be reminded of their poverty.
*takes bow*
And THAT was my own red rant, for the reds of course.
Aura High - Bernie Fought the Oligarchy
Bernie and his green blue aura showed up to introduce the artist, Clairo, and remind everyone to stand up against oligarchy. (By the way… more than 60% of the 80,000 crowd paid for their festival admission via a payment plan, just sayin’) He looked VERY energized and hopeful in his aura colors. He has a kind of perma-glow to his energy, which to me means he truly believes this can be a pivotal time for us all as I previously discussed HERE.
Aura Low - The Crowd Vibe
It was hard not to notice, even from the TikToks during my said bed rotting concert adventure, that the crowd was really a low vibe. Not a ton of enthusiasm, and not a ton of energy. But ya know what, ITS A DESERT. And the bright sun. The heat, the no gas in the car situation because the lines getting in were so long… 80,000 people. Orr…Could it be an indicator of the direction this festival is headed?
Many fans condemned the lackluster reception of long-time beloved performers. The Go-Go’s loyal followers for example admonished the crowds and were left furiously commenting online after seeing the almost zero reaction during and after their performance. There is growing and ongoing critique that Coachella is less for the fans and more for the influencing. Or is it just the heat exhaustion? Both?
Aura High - Megan Thee Stallion
With that purple red aura, Megan delivered not just a professional performance but also a ton of fun guests! Megan’s aura was projecting outward with boldness. This indicates to me that she owned it and enjoyed doing so. A confident aura like Megan knows that sharing the spotlight actually amplifies her vibration, and I feel like she understands how to create a show where the people watching know she spent time and energy on its delivery. Red auras have a lot of natural showmanship. It’s a way to show you care, and Megan definitely seems to do just that. She takes care of her fans in her red aura way.
Aura Low - “Costchella”
Just a reminder, of the 80,000 attendees, 60% purchased their admission tickets on a payment plan. But just to throw out a few expenses - and EVERYTHING costs money here - the general admission is around $550, standard parking is $210 and to rent a locker is around $100. Chicken fingers and fries were around $30 and a redbull vodka will set you back $17. I found a list of prices here.
SO… get the green aura budget calculator and the yellow aura spreadsheet going, because going to this festival is going to cost you. I truly think unless you’re a straight up pink or purple, possibly a turquoise, you aren’t coming here. I would love to take a poll of aura attendees because the only way to excuse this type of expenditure is to worry about it later in a way only some auras can.
Disclaimer
My indigo aura wrote this entire thing, and she’s a hermit. My purple aura wants you to know… we need to go next year!
Okay I am OBSESSED with your assessment, especially your red rant and your class consciousness. THANK YOU.
I also nearly laughed out loud at "I truly think unless you’re a straight up pink or purple, possibly a turquoise, you aren’t coming here. I would love to take a poll of aura attendees because the only way to excuse this type of expenditure is to worry about it later in a way only some auras can." because, well, I'm a turquoise, I spent a decade going to festivals like Burning Man and Coachella, and "worrying about it later" is EXACTLY how I did that LOLOLLOLOLOLOL.
Literally i woke up at age 30 with like $10k of credit card debt, and I am 100% positive that at least 70% of that was festival-, party-, and adventure/travel-related purchases/decisions. (The other 30% was doing things like renting a house I couldn't afford because the vibe was right and that must mean it was spiritually meant to be and so the money would just come, wouldn't it, obviously? Or putting meals and drinks and cabs on credit because people-pleasing and FOMO meant I could never ever ever say no, stay home, or stay within a budget, ever, but I also was burnt out AF and so I was constantly over-paying for conveniences while recovering. Oh and also all the parking tickets I got while living #VanLife)
Omg the thought of going to Coachella also gives me anxiety. My indigo could never. (But also, if I could’ve gone in my early 20s my purple would’ve been excited lol)
