Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Ep 5-10; Aura Highs and Lows
Will the auras of #Momtok survive this?
Well, it happened. I am fully invested in this aura dumpster fire, and I am living my best life. I want a sad beige kitchen and a matching crewneck. I want sips soda and Utah curls. This show has become my vision board. My aura is an ecru colored neutral.
*snaps out of it and slaps herself*
WOW. Nevermind. Let's talk about the top aura high and lows from the second part of season 2.
For aura review:
Aura Highs and Lows
Aura High: Demi vs. Taylor
Demi and Taylor share an aura combo; thus they really do bother one another. Taylor is unapologetically purple, and she not only unabashedly throws purple bombs this way and that, but she has also built an empire now called “#momtok” upon it.
Purples enjoy change since it's where they grow and forge their soul development. When they aren’t in a space where they can do this in a healthy way, they create contexts which are unhealthy to do so - i.e. this entire show. Having said that, Taylor owns her purple.
Demi on the other hand, doesn’t really want to own the purple. She tends to lead more in the shadows with her purple. Calling others out, attempting to wield the group vibration into new directions, divulging little secrets here and there so as to further her goals - all without really owning it.
Taylor gets a ton of attention, and even praise, for being a little purple messy. This seems to really trigger Demi. Why? Because she doesn’t own her purple. She’s messy too, she just can’t admit it.
Aura Low: Jessi’s Thyroid
The MOMENT she mentioned she had an enlarged thyroid, I was like, GIRL. What are you not saying in life? That's all energetic repression throat chakra stuff.
*points to fake medical degree on wall*
And what aren’t we saying? …all signs point to her marriage. Jessi being yellow and purple can keep things together like no other. She will work hard, look good and compartmentalize anything that is going astray in life.
Her husband, Jordan, is yellow blue, and as a couple, they seem to have a lot of professionalism together. They feel like they understand what a partnership is, and how to protect one another. I feel like they don’t hate one another, on the contrary they feel like good friends. I do feel like there may be more of a chemistry issue at play, a little ebb in the flow of marriage. And Jessi is a bit purple, and this world hit her hard lately.
Translation, she's wanting to fully merge into the messiness of her newfound fame as organized as she can do it, but it may have hit a snag. Like a good yellow purple though, she will work it all out in her favor somehow.

Aura Mid: #Dadtok
I mean, it feels a little forced. But whatever, let's discuss. It's really hard not to get a little weirded out if you dig too far into any of their backstories so I guess we'll just keep it to their auras.
Brett has a green and purple aura.
*wants to type that Brett actually met Demi when she was 9 and he was 25 but remembers promise to keep it to auras*
He feels like one of those people who can really lock in on someone, due to the green aura focus and get them in a place where they are fully on board with his ideas quickly. He's kind of used to selling his vibe and used to people buying it! I feel like it can come across as salesy. A little… mansplainy. Is there anything behind the vibe once you bought it though? Hmm.
*feels really bored talking about the dads*
Anyhow, here are everyone else’s aura colors:
Jordan (Jessi’s Husband) - yellow blue
Zac (Jen’s Husband) - blue purple and a sometimes green
Dakota (Taylor’s baby daddy)- green blue and a sometimes red
Jace (Mikayla’s Husband) - green indigo
Jacob (Mayci’s Husband) - blue purple
Connor (Whitney’s Husband) - bluequoise green
Aura High: Taylor’s Pie
Well, this is why Taylor is a star. And it's because she did not GAF about the Mormon bake off and slid a store-bought pie into a brought from home pie plate, and her purple aura shone brightly on this day.
Aura Low: Layla is the Producers’ Stooge
Pregnancy roulette? Marciano? And her one “storyline” being about disappointing sex? Poor Layla. Yellow blue auras aren’t usually on reality television, and as we see here, this is why. Yellow blues are salt of the earth, more behind the scenes helpers. They show up, do for others and have a selfless, sweet vibration. But they don’t LOVE the spotlight and as for reality tv, they tend to clean all their dirty laundry before anyone sees it - literally. (Actually literally, yellow blues are VERY clean people.)
So, what is her role here? Producers’ stooge. All the mean little nasty nudges the producers want to stir the pot with are executed mainly by Layla, little helper she is. And perhaps she knows this is how she keeps getting her paycheck.
Aura Whoa: Demi, Jessi and Marciano
This just feels soooooo… fake. I mean come ON! Who fell for that???
*FLASHBACK SEQUENCE COMMENCES ~~~~ screams at the reveal, immediately googles where season 3 is already*
If an aura was slimy, that's Marciano. You can just feel his red and purple aura all gooey and slippery, all over your vibe. Just sliming over every last crumb he can find to use for his need for attention in any form whatsoever. He’s sticky.
But what DID happen between Demi, Jessi and Marciano? I really feel like there was some off camera flirting, silliness and overall vibing which wouldn’t be completely marital friendly if #dadtok were there. However, Jessi does feel a little FREE to me from the same marital contracts Brett and Demi have.
ALSO… it was interesting to me that Jessi did not go harder on Demi during the blowback for the contract dispute where Demi apparently wanted more money and less Demi.
ALSO… it was interesting to me that Taylor’s reveal about Demi’s dis of Jessi’s hair salon was so quickly forgiven and semi forgotten by Demi.
ALSO… it was interesting to me that they both teamed up against Jen, who was a primo witness to Vanderpump Villa drama, and apparently may have seen some stuff.
My take is that Jessi and Demi had a bit of a purple bomb girls’ trip on Vanderpump Villa. Did it go as far as Marciano said? I don’t know about that, but I do think that it was something that wasn’t entirely innocent either. Jessi was avoiding it getting too messy. Demi is playing clean up and Brett is helping her cash in.
Aura High: Mayci gets vulnerable
Mayci is really using her platform to get some life stuff done and it is showing. That red aura hustle is shining bright, with her vitamin brand last season and this season an announcement of a memoir and a baby to be. She’s making hay while the sun shines on this reality tv moment, not wasting one of her opportunities.
Her purple aura was also on a healthy display. Mayci was raw and real this season. Sharing her tragic story about the death of her boyfriend was both vulnerable and very brave. I feel like she salvaged a lot of what this show lost in other story lines. It brings a sense of actual reality to this reality show.
Also, an additional Aura High would be the friendship between Mayci and Mikayla, it just felt very sweet and real.
GIVE ME EVERYTHING YOU FEEL! All your hot takes, all your thoughts on what REALLY happened with Marciano, lets figure it out in the comments below!
Wait I loveeee this. For me it’s Jen, like what is really going on in her marriage and why did Demi and Jessi team up to confront her? They villainized Jen and I just don’t understand why? To try and discredit anything she had to say about Marciano before it came out?
I am shook by Conor being 💧💙💚. I mean it makes total sense. He even changes his look every couple of weeks. I guess I am shook because I am so facinated by him. I also loved how he stuck up for Taylor at that big dinner, and got a little raw and open. Especially in a group where he doesn’t really fit in. I also love how open he was about his trauma on the internet.
This may be a hot take, but Whitney and Connor are my favorite people on the show. Maybe it’s because I have been watching them long before the show. But everything they do captures my attention. Whitney is an amazing and engaging performer who has been in so many scandals. I love every one of her dramatic apology videos. Maybe it’s also because I can never tell if they are acting. Maybe it’s because of how they handle the internet poopooing their marriage. Maybe their marriage is a lavender one, and who cares. It works for them, and I think their connection is genuine.
